Warehouse Supervisor (Travel Team)
Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor (Travel Team) oversees and executes operational and project-based initiatives across multiple warehouse locations. This position is responsible for coordinating the travel team’s activities, ensuring project timelines are met, managing cross-functional collaboration, and maintaining MSI’s high standards of operational efficiency and safety. The Supervisor leads by example—building, interpreting, and utilizing data to drive decision-making while traveling to various project sites to implement best practices, lead audits, and train team members.
Compensation: This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $23.75 to $26.75 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $68,200 and $86,700 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Build, interpret, and utilize data to plan, prioritize, and execute projects effectively.
- Oversee and manage cross-functional project timelines, deliverables, and resources from start to finish.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to travel team leads and provide ongoing support to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Provide timely updates and progress reports to key stakeholders, including managers and team leaders.
- Travel to project sites to lead on-site execution, monitor progress, and provide hands-on support as needed.
- Lead operational audits at existing branches to ensure compliance with MSI operational standards and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure all safety protocols and company policies are followed during travel team operations.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Logistics, IT, Inventory) to streamline communication and drive efficient execution.
- Train and mentor new and existing team members to uphold MSI’s quality and productivity standards.
- Support home base operations as needed to assist with key initiatives, cover resource gaps, or drive performance improvements.
- Coordinate the procurement and ordering of materials for upcoming projects, ensuring timely availability while maintaining cost efficiency and adherence to budget guidelines.
- Read, analyze, and interpret architectural designs (e.g., CAD drawings) to provide the business with the most optimal building layout.
- Travel to new and existing branches to take measurements, calculate dimensions, and work with local branch leaders to annotate warehouse business requirements.
- Promote positive employee relations and resolve personnel issues through effective conflict resolution.
- Work with the manager to plan travel accommodations, including booking flights, hotels, and car rentals.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel up to 60–70% of the time.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and leading projects.
- Proven expertise in using the MS Office Suite.
- Previous work experience in construction is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of current building codes, materials, and architectural design preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with strong structure and clarity in written, oral, and presentation materials.
- Strong follow-up skills with a customer service mindset.
- Effective decision-making skills with the ability to negotiate and balance priorities across multiple departments.
- High attention to detail and the ability to ask intelligent questions to drive results.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to gather input from others and translate concepts into strategic, actionable plans.
- Strong relationship-building and partnership skills with key stakeholders.
- Ability to monitor, measure, and provide feedback on process performance.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
