IT Security analyst
Summary: The Systems Engineer works with a team of highly skilled associates and managers to maintain, implement, and analyze technical systems. The Systems Engineer position monitors, maintains, supports, and optimizes all networked software and associated operating systems.
Compensation: This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $35 to $38 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $73,800 and $94,300 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough security assessments of applications, identifying vulnerabilities, and providing detailed remediation guidance.
- Perform code reviews and collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Threat Modeling:
Ø Develop and maintain threat models for applications, identifying potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
Ø Work closely with development teams to address security concerns during the design phase of projects.
- Security Architecture:
Ø Design, implement, and maintain secure architecture solutions for applications and systems.
Ø Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to proactively address potential security challenges.
- Incident Response:
Ø Serve as a subject matter expert in incident response, providing support in the event of a security incident or breach.
Ø Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and remediate security incidents.
- Security Training and Awareness:
Ø Develop and deliver security-training programs for development and operations teams.
Ø Foster a culture of security awareness and best practices throughout the organization.
- Tools and Automation:
Ø Evaluate, implement, and manage security tools and automation processes to enhance the efficiency and the effectiveness of security initiatives.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or A+ certifications in Information Systems or similar field.
- 3 + years of Systems Administration or similar IT work in a complex multi-location environment.
- Work experience with Active Directory, VMware, Hyper-V, and/or VDI a plus.
- Basic computer skills including experience with POS systems, and MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience providing IT and Help Desk support.
- Experience troubleshooting, analyzing, implementing and evaluating IT systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects. (Multi-tasking)
- Should be able to work independently to complete specific tasks and meet deadlines.
- Aptitude in problem solving and decision-making.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and follow through.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects/activities simultaneously.
