FAQ

What type of thin set should be used for large format tile?

An LFT (large format tile) thin set must be used.

Can large format tiles be butt jointed?

No, all hard surface flooring products that are set permanent must have a joint in between ( we recommend a minimum 1/8” but smaller is possible) for expansion and contraction.

Can large format tiles be set over a wood sub floor?

No, we always recommend that porcelain tiles be set over a cement type backer board such as (Durock or Hardi Backer) or a suitable uncoupling membrane like a Ditra by Schluter.
