Product Promoter
Summary: The Product Promoter is responsible for increasing product visibility and product and sampling placement across Retail Flooring, Kitchen & Bath (K&B), and Hardscaping dealers, as well as within the architectural and design community. This role builds and maintains strong relationships across all business segments in the assigned market through consistent, strategic engagement.
Serving as a technical and product expert, the Product Promoter drives brand awareness by delivering product knowledge seminars, training customer sales teams, and ensuring effective in-store and showroom execution to support business growth.
Compensation: This salaried, exempt position pays from $57,000 to $62,000 per year. The estimated annual pay for new hires generally ranges from $59,000 to $65,000 or more, depending on experience, education level and annual bonuses (based on performance).
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Promote MSI flooring, tiles and related product lines by increasing product visibility, awareness, and sampling placement within the assigned market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Architects and design communities, developers, government and educational institutions, commercial builders through consistent engagement.
- Conduct product knowledge seminars and presentations at customer locations to educate and influence key decision-makers.
- Train customer sales teams on MSI products, features, and applications, serving as a technical and product expert.
- Support business growth by retaining existing customers and expanding relationships through ongoing service and follow-up.
- Coordinate with customers to ensure proper placement, inventory, and maintenance of promotional and sampling materials.
- Increase brand awareness through strategic in-store, showroom, and event-based product placement and merchandising.
- Attend trade shows, conventions, and industry events to represent MSI and strengthen market presence.
- Maintain accurate customer records and prepare reports as needed to track engagement and performance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following education and/or experience requirements:
- High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
- Prior experience in the natural stone, tile, hard flooring, or related building materials industry preferred.
- Retail merchandising or product promotion experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a self-motivated, organized, and results-driven approach.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Comfortable using mobile technology, including smartphones and tablets, for daily work activities.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Willing to travel, with up to 50% travel required.
