Warehouse Worker and Delivery Driver
Summary: As a warehouse worker and delivery driver, you’ll mainly work in the warehouse helping with day-to-day tasks like loading, unloading, palletizing, and packing. From time to time, you’ll also deliver MSI products to local customers. During these deliveries, you’ll drop off materials in driveways and use an electric pallet jack to unload pallets.
Compensation: This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $21.75 to $24.75 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $54,400 and $71,000 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently deliver flooring, countertop, wall tile, and hardscaping products.
- Conduct driveway deliveries and operate an electric pallet jack to unload pallets at each location.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring items are properly secured using blocks, straps, chains, and binders.
- Operate vehicles with constant attention to safety and DOT compliance.
- Maintain a legal and accurate logbook at all times.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate patience and professionalism with other road users.
- Adapt to changing delivery conditions while maintaining a customer-focused attitude.
- Work independently with an emphasis on safety and service excellence.
- Provide excellent customer service during all deliveries.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements:
- Valid Class C Driver’s License.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience with heavy-duty vehicles.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience working in a warehouse.
- Comfortable with making local deliveries with multiple stops.
- Electric pallet jack experience for unloading the pallets
- Successful completion of driving test and all DOT pre-employment requirements.
- Safety-minded with proficiency in maintaining a legal and accurate logbook.
- Capable of understanding and interpreting bill of landing/picking sheets.
- Previous experience utilizing an iPad or tablet is preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
This role has the following physical demands:
- Generate 137lbs of vertical push/pull force.
- The employee must regularly lift, pull and move up to 55 pounds and occasionally up to 70lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- Able to carry at least 30lbs the length of the truck bed.
- Able to ascend and descend multiple-rung ladder.
- Able to frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch.
- Able to work at elevated height of 72” above the ground while assembling and disassembling strap, ties, ratchets, nuts, bolts, and other securing or fastening equipment.
- Able to work at lowered height of 6” above the ground while assembling and disassembling strap, ties, ratchets, nuts, bolts, and other securing or fastening equipment.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
