Warehouse Lead
Summary: The Lead is directly responsible for supervising warehouse members, conducting floor operations and complying with safety regulations in the warehouse.
Compensation: This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $21.75 to $24.75 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $54,400 and $71,000 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure day-to-day shipping and warehouse tasks are being completed in a timely manner.

- Responsible for managing and assisting warehouse team members.
- Pull and prepare flooring products for shipment based on customer orders.
- Load and unload flooring products from trucks, containers, and trailers using forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Ensure that products are properly secured on vehicles/trucks and take all necessary safety measures.
- Assist with receiving inbound shipments and verifying accuracy against purchase orders.
- Conduct floor operations and assign team members to different areas as required.
- Lead stand-up meetings and perform effective shift changeovers.
- Train and certify operators on warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, packing, loading).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Properly train and coach team members to ensure smooth department operations.
- Communicate order status, shipping updates, and escalations in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain a safety-oriented environment.

- Proactively work to prevent injuries.
- Follow and enforce all safety procedures according to company standards.
- Use problem-solving tools and collaborate with team members to eliminate safety issues.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness for customer visits and tours.
- Use WMS and electronic systems to process and ship customer orders accurately, damage-free, and on time.
- Identify process improvements using lean management techniques to improve material flow, quality, and inventory accuracy.

- Lead projects and other continuous improvement activities.
- Utilize problem-solving tools such as 5S, 5 Why, PDCA, and focus boards.
- Perform additional duties as required or assigned.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- One (1) to Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Minimum Two (2) years of experience in Shipping, Receiving, or Warehouse Operations.
- Forklift experience required; pallet jack and other warehouse equipment experience preferred.
- Training or familiarity with LEAN, 5S, or other continuous improvement methods is a plus.
- Effective use of technology including PC’s, scanners, and tablets (IPad).
- Strong skills in the areas of communication (written/verbal), time management, and problem solving.

- Ability to lead, train, coach, and motivate warehouse employees.
- Ability to make sound decisions and delegate appropriately.
- Excellent oral and written English language communication skills
- Provide high level of customer service
- Good organizational skills
