Regional HR Director
Summary: The Regional HR Director for the day to day management of HR operations as well as the strategic and cultural improvements at MSI.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
Overall:
- Achieve the goals in the Northeast Scorecard HR metrics.
- Covering HR for the Northeast branches initially with potential for other branches to be handled by this position in the future.
- Partner with Vice President on critical decisions.
- Attend all NJED Huddle Meetings once per month.
- Travel to all Northeast branches twice annually.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Responsible for HR Generalists / Admin and them completing their responsibilities.
- Be a subject matter expert in all HR Generalist responsibilities and seamlessly fill in when needed.
- Work in conjunction with payroll to make sure employee onboarding as well as terminations are completed in a timely manner
- 30/60/90 day reviews – Ensure Supervisors/Managers are completing on time, proactively and thoroughly.
- Lead a hands-on & in person rollout of Benefits Enrollment (Healthcare as well as 401K) including Biometric Screenings and wellness plan.
- Lead through employee relations decisions with the senior leadership and supervisors.
- Handle employee relations and compliance issues work in conjunction with corporate and outside attorneys as it relates to legal issues.
- Work to reduce overall turnover.
- Assist with conducting exit interviews and required follow-up.
- Maintain human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database. Be extremely detailed in documentation and ensure we are uploading to the Performance Activity Logs and in the HR portals.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Establish and foster 2 temp agencies in NJED and 1 for each branch, including the relationships for all Northeast branches and own the temp-to-hire program.
- Coach employees on better interviewing techniques.
- Support the exempt / salaried recruitment efforts.
- Improve the hiring process for exempt and non-exempt so that it takes less than 8 business days to complete from start to finish.
- Find valuable and creative methods to recruit for all positions.
- Improve the Employee Handbook in partnership with Corporate HR and Core.
- Implement formal trainings for Supervisors and Senior Leaders, so that overall leadership and professionalism improves.
- Help improve website and other platforms to make sure MSI is being displayed in the best light.
- Help build job descriptions as required.
- Continue to monitor market pay rates and benefits.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 10-20 years of progressive experience working in a fast-paced Human Resources department; or any appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience with HRIS software, payroll and labor reporting systems.
- Strong knowledge of Federal, CA labor laws and all Northeast & other applicable state laws.
- Strong knowledge of compliance in labor and payroll laws.
- Strong employee relations experience.
- Willingness to travel; up to 25% travel required.
- Excellent oral and written English language communication skills
- Provide high level of customer service
- Good organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
